Deafgard detects the sound of a fire alarm. After a continuous alarm of 10 seconds at a level of 60 - 90 db (standard fire alarm sound level) the Deafgard flashes an integral strobe and activates an under pillow vibration pad. Under the mandatory terms of the DDA all hoteliers are legally obliged to make provision for the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing, Deafgard is the solution!

The Deafguard also incorporates an alarm clock. It is a portable unit and uses 4 x C size alkaline batteries (included), a storage bag is also provided. It can be easily be moved from room to room.

Deafgard X is activated by System X (TX). When Deafgard X receives a signal from the TX unit, the Deafgard X bedside unit will activate the high-intensity strobe LED and connected vibrating pillow pad. A flashing strobe and LCD provide visual indication that the fire alarm is sounding, allowing the deaf or hard of hearing person to leave their room to a place of safety.

System X transmitter for use with Dorgard X and Deafgard X Ref: SYSTEM X TX

The System X transmitter unit (TX) is positioned beside the fire alarm bell or sounder and incorporates the very latest radio technology. On identifying an alarm condition using acoustic technology the unit automatically signals to all linked devices, including Dorgard X and Deafgard X within a 100m range, subject to a site-survey.

System X is fully fail safe and complies with BS EN 1155 and BS 7273-4 category B. The link between the fire alarm sounder, transmitter and linked device(s) is completely wireless so installation is quick and easy. The transmitter constantly monitors the status of each linked device including the battery life and signal strength.
