Disabled Toilet AlarmsDisabled toilet alarms can be located in many different public places such as hospitals, care homes, pubs and trains. In addition they are often installed in private homes owned by the elderly and disabled, especially for those who live on their own. They can take on many different forms depending on the location or circumstances. Whilst some may contain an alarm so that a nurse or carer may rush to assist a person in need, other disabled toilet alarms will need to be connected to a central base so that if a person is living on their own a warden can be alerted and call at the house to help. Another important consideration is accessibility, disabled toilet alarms need to be easy to reach so that if a person were to fall to the floor they would still be able to make use of the alarm, if the alarm was at head height it would obviously render it unreachable. Disabled toilet alarms no doubt enable people who are disabled to experience a greater sense of freedom and dignity, with the knowledge that they can go to the toilet safely without necessarily the need of supervision.
Door InterlockDoor Interlock, Airlock, Man Trap, here’s your answer... Door interlock controllers restrict or control entry to and from areas that need to be secured against two or more doors being opened simultaneously. Hoyles interguard door interlock systems cater for any application. From a simple but secure two door interlock to complex multi door requirements. With the new 2 door Interlock for 2009 part number IG222, restricting and controlling entry to and from secure areas has never been easier. The integral push buttons and door status indicators on the controller make it ideal for installations where the door interlock is to be operated by a supervisor; however remote pushbuttons or high security keypads, card readers, biometrics etc… can also be connected if required. The controller provides 2 relays for door locks, a breach relay and outputs for door status indication. The breach relay operates on power loss, door open too long or forced door conditions. The automatic door function allows electric door openers to be interlocked. An integral key switch is provided which can be connected for various uses including isolating local door controls and releasing or locking both doors. Typical applications include cash offices, jewellers, clean rooms and access to any other secure area. The door interlock systems we provide can integrate seamlessly with any access control system when required. DorgardA dorgard is a small device that can and has saved the lives of many, who would believe that such a seemingly boring gadget at first could be capable of such a massive feat? With its intelligent ability to recognise the sound of a fire alarm in seconds it can release a fire door and ensure that it is secure to prevent a fire from spreading. I should imagine in hotels where there are long corridors it is necessary to create a sense of space and an ambience of a welcoming note through doors being propped open. However, open doors enable the wrath of fires to spread quickly, unlike a wooden wedge a dorgard would prevent this from happening. The other massive bonus to installing a dorgard is that it will not destroy the appearance of a building or room. They come in many different colours and elegant designs to suit the décor, style and safety, what more could a hotelier ask for? It is important to note though that unless one knows how to install such a gadget it would be better to leave it to the experts, if a dorgard is not placed close enough to a fire alarm, it may not work which could obviously have potentially devastating consequences.
