Electronic Product Design Engineer

Over the last 50 years, we have built a reputation for manufacturing highly reliable electronic security devices for some of the world’s best known security brands. We also make our own exclusive branded products in Exitguard, Entryguard, Multiguard, Interguard and Keyguard.

A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to take a key role in the design team. The job role covers all aspects of product design from formulating initial concepts all the way through to contributing to sales and marketing materials. This can include the physical design of the product using CAD software, the electronic design and even the packaging design.

The fundamental aspect of the role is electronic design including but not limited to, PCB design, analogue and digital electronics, and programming of microcontrollers specifically Microchip PIC. A good understanding of basic electronic components and principals is also essential.

Excellent problem solving skills are fundamental to the role and will need to be demonstrated at interview.

Another key aspect is providing technical product support to customers over the telephone as well as occasional site visits, plus support in sales meetings and at exhibitions. Therefore a full clean driving licence is essential.

Ideally you will have some relevant industry experience, although we do also welcome applications from graduates at HND or Degree level in Electronic Engineering.

You must be enthusiastic, well motivated, able to manage own projects with little supervision and have excellent communication skills for contact with colleagues and customers alike. You will have an ability to work to deadlines and have a good sense of humour.

Salary range is £18,000 - £28,000 depending on experience and you would be invited to take part in our bonus scheme after a trail period.
