This Toilet Engaged System provides an effective means of communicating the engaged / vacant status of a toilet area to customers and staff. By communicating this in a clear way, confusion and frustration is avoided, as well as a large decrease in queue times.
Suitable for use in both general workplaces and also publicly accessible toilets in shops, restaurants and bars etc, this Vacant Engaged Sign is designed to help in achieving social distancing requirements in the fight against COVID-19.
The system consists of the following components:
So, how does this all work?
The toilet engaged sign works by detecting whether the outer door to the facility has been opened and then closed. After which the system checks for movement inside the toilet area.
When the toilet area is unoccupied the WC Vacant green lights will be illuminated. If movement is detected then the WC Engaged red lights will be illuminated. The WC Vacant green lights will only illuminate again after the door has been opened and closed again, with no movement is detected inside the toilet area.
For the system to work effectively, the entrance door to the communal toilet area cannot be wedged open as the system relies on seeing the door open and close. The door should be fitted with a door closer which is correctly adjusted to close the door safely but as swiftly as possible.
All components of the system need to be hard wired back to the main control unit using cable provided. A competent electrician or security/fire installation engineer should be used to carry out the installation.
